Thinking of Choosing Brockwell?

Note from the Headteacher

We here at Brockwell Nursery & Infant School aim to provide the best possible education for all our children. To achieve this we create a safe, happy, caring and stimulating environment in which all children feel confident to try their hardest and strive to realise their full potential. We encourage self-confidence and independence in all our children, and enjoy celebrating each individual's success.

We have a wonderful outdoor environment with several areas including: fields and playgrounds with large outdoor climbing equipment, a nature garden and a well-established Forest School - all of which the children access throughout the year. We know that being outside is good for both body and soul!

We believe education is a partnership between home and school and encourage the involvement of parents in all aspects of school life.

We are delighted to be in a position to offer you a visit to school as we know it provides a great opportunity for you to see if Brockwell Nursery & Infant School is the kind of school into which you wish your child to take their first step into the world of formal education. Please ring school on 01246 232034 or email us on enquiries@brockwell-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk to arrange this.

Please also do take time to read our School Brochure or our Nursery Brochure, look at our website and view the video below to get a feel of what we are about. Please do not hesitate to phone and we will do our very best to answer any further queries you may have.

Please watch the following video to give you a taste of our school environment. Please note that areas may change as they develop and update.

Admission arrangements to our Nursery Classes

We are lucky to have a Nursery class at our school. Children can attend for 15 hours or 30 hours a week depending on availability, from the age of 3. The learning is planned by our experienced early years teachers and their highly qualified team of teaching assistants.

Admissions to our nursery take place in September where most of our sessions are filled. If we find that we have spaces in the first term, we can allocate places to children as they become 3.  We have a waiting list for places, and you can add your child’s name to our admissions book by contacting school on 01246 232 034. Visits to school are warmly welcomed and are by appointment.

Please also look at the Derbyshire webpage for further information for 'readiness for school'.

Admission arrangements to our Infant Classes

Children who would like to join our Infant school have to apply for a place, even if they already attend our nursery.

If you would like to apply for an Infant School place, please contact Derbyshire County Council admissions team on 01629 537479.  You can also apply online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions
